How it works

  1. Your browser reads the file. This page's JavaScript walks through the PNG, JPEG or WebP byte by byte, without decoding the pixels.
  2. Provenance blocks are removed. C2PA manifest, EXIF, XMP and comments. These are what ChatGPT, Gemini, Firefly and others use so platforms can show the AI notice.
  3. You download the result. Pixels stay untouched: same resolution, same quality, no recompression.

FAQ

What exactly does it remove?

In PNG, the caBX (C2PA), eXIf, tEXt, iTXt and zTXt chunks. In JPEG, the APP1 (EXIF and XMP), APP11 (C2PA) and COM segments. In WebP, the EXIF, XMP and C2PA chunks. The ICC color profile is kept so the image looks the same.

Does it also remove the invisible pixel watermark?

No. Some generators also embed an imperceptible signal spread across the whole image (SynthID and similar). It is not in a specific area or in the metadata, so it cannot be cut out. This tool only removes the labels that make the “made with AI” notice appear when you share the image.

Do I lose quality?

No. The image data is copied as is. The resulting file is usually a few kilobytes smaller, which is exactly what the metadata took up.

Where do my images go?

Nowhere. This page has no server: your browser does all the work and the clean file is built in memory. It works the same offline.

Why is there no cookie banner?

Because it uses no cookies and no tracking. The only thing stored in your browser is the language you pick, and that does not require consent.
